Pests rarely appear “suddenly.” Cockroaches, ants, termites and rodents usually follow food, moisture, and easy entry points. Simple maintenance habits can keep most of them away.
First, deal with crumbs and spills quickly. Kitchen counters, dining tables and floors should not stay sticky or food-dotted overnight. Even a small leftover on the stove or under the fridge can attract visitors.
Seal entry points. Tiny gaps around drain pipes, under doors, or in window frames are like open invitations. Use sealants, door sweeps, or mesh where needed. Bathroom and kitchen vents should have grills or mesh screens.
Fix leaks. Damp wood under sinks, wet walls, or constant moisture around pipes make great breeding zones, especially for termites and cockroaches.
Take out garbage regularly. Overfull bins, especially with wet waste, turn into pest lounges. Use closed-lid bins and clear them daily.
If you see early signs—ant trails, droppings, chewed packaging—act fast with targeted sprays, traps or professional pest control, instead of waiting for a full-blown infestation.
Prevention is always cheaper and less stressful than curing a full pest takeover.
