You know those rare days when you finally have a little extra energy or a free afternoon? That’s the perfect time for a one-room deep clean—not the whole house, just one space done really well.
Pick your target: bedroom, kitchen, living room, or bathroom. Set a realistic time limit—one to two hours. Put on music or a podcast to keep you going.
Step one: declutter surfaces. Clear tables, sideboards, nightstands, and counters. Remove everything, then only put back what truly belongs there.
Step two: dust high to low. Start with ceiling corners, fans, light fixtures, and top of cupboards. Then move to shelves, frames, and furniture. Finish with skirting, window sills, and low areas.
Step three: clean hidden spots. Pull furniture slightly away from walls if possible and sweep/mop behind and under. In bedrooms, clean under the bed. In the kitchen, do behind the fridge or stove if safe.
Step four: wipe frequently touched points—switchboards, door handles, remote controls, cupboard handles.
Finally, mop the floor slowly, not in a rush, and let the room dry while you step out and enjoy a drink.
Doing one room properly feels more satisfying and manageable than half-heartedly attacking the entire home.
